Most insurance companies have appraisers or hire one to write the repair estimate. Unless you are told differently, you do not have to obtain estimates from two to three body shops.

We will accept the estimate prepared by or for the insurance company. If we find additional damages, all we have to do is call the appraiser. He or she will reinspect your vehicle and prepare a supplement to the original estimate.

Vehicle is drivable
If your vehicle is drivable, we need a copy of the estimate your appraiser sent to you. Then we will order the parts and set up an appointment for you to bring your vehicle in for the repairs. When we order the parts ahead of time, we can reduce the amount of time your vehicle is in our shop.

Vehicle is not drivable
If your vehicle is not drivable, your appraiser has to look at it first. This gives him or her the chance to determine if your vehicle is repairable or a total loss. If it is repairable, we will have a towing company pick it up and bring it to us. We will also ask the appraiser to fax a copy of the estimate to our office. When we have the estimate, we will order the parts. In most cases, we can start the repairs as soon as we receive the parts.
